The Silicon Valley Chinese American Computer and Commerce Association (SVCACA), in collaboration with China Taiwan Business (CNTWBIZ), has invited China’s 104 Job Bank to make a presentation on the topic of “Information on China’s Employment Market.” 104 Job Bank, the largest online recruiting website in Greater China, will also be providing professional career planning consultation and other job seeking services at the event.

The current economic recession resulted from a series of worldwide financial woes starting from the fall of Lehman Brothers last September. Since then, many corporations have been laying off employees and drastically cutting costs in order to survive the financial crisis. Although China has also been impacted by this recession, current economic growth in China is significantly stronger than that of other countries, such as the U.S.A., Japan, Germany, etc. There is still a great deal of room for talented individuals to develop their careers in China at this moment. The event is aimed at helping people understand more about the job market in China and encouraging Overseas Chinese to go back and work in China.

104 Job Bank, established in Taiwan in 1996, is a successful professional online recruiting organization. With 4 million users and a 90% market share in Taiwan, it has a well known reputation and went public on the TSE in February of 2006 (TSE:3130). 104 Job Bank in China was officially set up in the Spring of 2006. The company has signed a cooperative agreement with Jiangsu Province, Kunshan City, Fujian Province, and many other regional and local governments to assist them in upgrading their talent development and services. Additionally, 104 Job Bank has also recruited talent for HSBC, FUJITSU, SMIC, Panasonic, Lenovo, Paypal and other large corporations.

At this event, you will learn the latest information on China’s current employment market, the Chinese local government’s demand for and policy regarding high- and middle-level talent, current status of payrolls in China, and information on 104 Job Bank’s specific services.

Come and bring your resume to take advantage of recruitment opportunities and listen to how 104 Job Bank can help you deepen your understanding of China’s job market and help you seek job opportunities in China.

The Silicon Valley Chinese American Computer & Commerce Association(SVCACA) has been continually active for the past 14 years, and is the oldest high-tech organization of its kind in Silicon Valley. SVCACA is comprised of hundreds of computer enterprises with thousands of employees and aggregate revenues in the billions of dollars.

In 1980, when the computer revolution was erupting in Silicon Valley, groups of Chinese science students brought computer technology back to Taiwan and began producing hardware to export back to the United States. Other groups of students many of whom are now members of the SVCACA seized the opportunity to import these products, assemble them into PC systems, and distribute all throughout the United States. This trade figured strongly in the growth of Taiwan as well as the general technological and economic developments of the United States.

SVCACA (formerly NBI National Business Information) was established for the purpose of enhancing our successes in the United States. We used the organization as a way of sharing information, pooling our resources and cooperating with one another in order to leverage our collective buying volume when dealing with our vendors, such as Microsoft, as well as with service companies such as UPS. We were also able to extend our influence through networking partnerships with sister organizations such as Southern California Chinese Computer Association (SCCCA) in Los Angeles, Computer Association of North America (CANA) in New York, and Western Canada Computer Distributor Society (WCCDS) in Canada.

Today, much of Taiwan's computer manufacturing operations have been moved to Mainland China. Our Association's relations have shifted alongside this trend. Our Association was the first high-tech organization to visit China. Since that initial visit, we have sent delegations to China virtually every year, several times per year. Due to our constant evel of activity, we have established strong relations with associations, science parks, civil servants, and politicians in China. We have also helped to coordinate many nvestment forums in the United States, featuring Chinese delegations. Not only do we assist our members in doing business in China, we also assist them in science park projects and various other types of ventures.

We will continue to assist Chinese delegations and individuals in coming to visit the United States. We will also continue to assist our members in making connections in China. In addition, we will pay more attention to providing benefits to our members in order to help them fight against this bad economic situation.

Following the establishment of our offices in Mainland China (Beijing and Shenzhen), Hong Kong, and Taipei, our direction will be to continue connecting these three regions with the Silicon Valley, to bring them together as the "Four Regions on Three Coasts"(三岸四地)”. Our mission is to provide a platform for Chinese professionals in the high-tech and related industries to come together in the spirit of business and communications.
